Completely redesigned for 2010, the Volkswagen GTI is unchanged for 2011, except for standard Bluetooth connectivity that is compatible with the multifunction steering wheel.
The performance version of the Volkswagen Golf, the GTI comes strictly as a hatchback, in two- or four-door configuration, which the company calls three- and five-door, each in a single trim line. It uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged direct-injection engine with six-speed manual or optional six-speed Direct Shift Gearbox automatic transmission.
Features on the two-door include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, adaptive automatic bi-xenon headlamps, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, variable intermittent wipers, intermittent rear wiper, heated washer nozzles, anti-theft alarm, cruise control, digital compass, front and rear floor mats, multifunction trip computer, footwell lighting, illuminated glovebox, illuminated vanity mirrors, brushed aluminum sport pedals, keyless entry, six-CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, Sirius satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, heated eight-way manually-adjustable cloth sport seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat with pass-through and centre armrest, three-spoke leather-wrapped sport wheel, and auto up/down windows.
The four-door adds power driver?s seat recline feature.
Available options include 18-inch alloy wheels, power sunroof, navigation system, iPod interface, and leather upholstery.
